The stage is set for a thrilling showdown at Trigg Beach this Friday, as the 2025 Think Mental Health WA School Surfing Titles State Final brings together the best young surfers from across Western Australia to battle for the coveted title of Champion School.
Following ten hotly contested regional and metropolitan qualifiers, more than 50 teams of surfers and bodyboarders have carved their way into this year’s State Final, Surfing WA’s biggest participation event on the calendar.
The day promises high-energy competition with divisions for juniors, seniors, boys, and girls, as teams go head-to-head for bragging rights. WA Schools also have the chance to represent the state at the Australian Junior Surfing Titles at the end of November, where they will take on the best surfing schools from across the nation.
“Over 50 high schools have put forward more than 400 teams this year, and it’s been fantastic to see the depth of emerging talent right across the state,” said Surfing WA Regional Manager Kim Clift. “Despite some challenging conditions during the qualifiers, the energy and stoke among the students has been outstanding.”
All eyes will be on Margaret River Senior High School, who return to defend their crown and chase a record 20th consecutive Champion School Title, an incredible streak that underscores their dominance in the water.
The event, proudly supported by Healthway through the Think Mental Health campaign, highlights the importance of both physical and mental wellbeing, delivering positive health messages to thousands of students while providing an inclusive and exciting competitive pathway.
Competition gets underway from 8am, with a forecast of clean 1–2 foot swell and sunny skies setting the scene for an unforgettable day of surfing.
