2021 AUSTRALIAN SURF CHAMPIONSHIPS COVID-19 UPDATE

With several COVID19 outbreaks and subsequent restrictions across the country, Surfing Australia wishes to provide the following update on the upcoming Hydralyte Sports Australian Surf Championships to be held in Port Macquarie from August 6th, 2021.  

KEY POINTS & DATES PROVIDED BY SURFING AUSTRALIA

– Surfing Australia is monitoring the COVID19 situation day by day and aims to run the Hydralyte Sports Australian Surf Championships on the original dates of August 6-23, 2021 in Port Macquarie, NSW.

– Surfing Australia will provide an update on the Hydralyte Sports Australian Surf Championships on Monday, July 12th,2021. 

– Surfing Australia will provide an update on the Hydralyte Sports Australian Surf Championships regarding postponement, cancellation or running as scheduled on Friday, July 16, 2021.

– Surfing Australia urges all competitors to book flights and accommodation with flexibility where possible. 

The 2021 Australian Surf Championships is proudly supported by the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW. The event is also proudly supported by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, the Australian Institute of Sport, Hyundai, 2XP, mySURF.tv, Surfing Australia and Surfing NSW.

·        August 6 – Opening Ceremony for the Australian Shortboard Titles

·        August 7 – 11 – Period for the Australian Shortboard Titles (Further division scheduling to follow)

·        August 11 – Opening Ceremony for the Australian Longboard Titles

·        August 12 – 20 – Period for the Australian Longboard Titles (Further division scheduling to follow)

·        August 21 – Australian Para Surfing Titles (All divisions on standby)

·        August 22 – 23 – Period for the Australian Bodyboard Titles (Further division scheduling to follow)
