OLIVE HARDY SHINES AT PARKO’S JUNIOR PRO FINALS DAY

Groms strived for victory on Finals Day at Coolum Beach for Parko’s Junior Pro pres. by Campbell Construction Co. The inaugural event showcased textbook surfing across the various divisions, with competitors giving it their all in the biggest Junior surf event in Australia.

The powerful 3-4 ft conditions allowed the 270+ groms to demonstrate their high-level competitive abilities. Divisions range from the Under 12 Boys and Girls, all the way up to our elite Under 18 Boys and Girls.

Sunshine Coast local, Stella Green was named champion after an intense face-off against Ava Holland. Green surfed an excellent heat, finishing with 13.00 points (out of a possible 20) in the difficult afternoon surf conditions.

Green expressed her enthusiasm about gaining 10,000 points and receiving a custom JS Industries surfboard.

“I just want to thank Surfing Queensland, all my sponsors and Parko for hosting this event,” said Green.

“It was such a fun final to share with Ava and thank you to my mum for all the support! Oh… and cheers to my sister for letting me borrow her boards.”

Fletcher Kelleher was the final victor of the day, surfing 10 waves in only 25-minutes. His determined attitude and mastery of surfing, allowed him to win the Under 18 Boys division.

Ocean Lancaster narrowly won the Under 16 Boys final against Hunter Anderson in the most exciting heat of the day. The two close friends cheered each other on during their heat, marking the second time they’ve faced off in a man-on-man finals.

While Anderson won the previous time, it was Lancaster who walked away victorious. We can’t wait to see them face off again at the next Junior competition.

Olive Hardy claimed victory against top seed, Rosie Richardson in a nail-biting final. Hardy’s last wave allowed her to narrowly get the win in the closing minutes, facing one of Queensland’s most fierce competitors.

Coco Woolley won her heat against Evie Wilson in conditions that were nearly triple overhead for the Under 12 Girls.

Joel Parkinson (aka. Parko) spent the day at Coolum Beach spectating, commentating and awarding the victors at the presentation.

Winners from each division walked away with a custom JS Industries surfboard + Billabong and Globe vouchers.

Runner Ups received a Globe Surf Skate + Billabong and Globe vouchers.
