SURFING WA ANNOUNCES 2025 COMPETITION SCHEDULE

After an action-packed 2024 filled with highlights both in and out of the water, Surfing Western Australia is thrilled to unveil its events and competition schedule for 2025.

The season will kick off in January with the 20th edition of Taj’s Small Fries, taking place in Yallingup from January 16 to 19.

The 2025 calendar is packed with over 30 State, Specialty, National, and International events, showcasing WA’s premier surfing regions.

Highlights for 2025 will include the World Surf League Western Australia Margaret River Pro, the Corsaire Aviation King of the Point, the 26th Whalebone Longboard Classic, the WA Pro Surf Series, along with an wide array of competitions designed for WA juniors, shortboarders, longboarders, bodyboarders, and stand-up paddleboarders (SUP).

“It was fantastic to see our surfers competing at the highest level and representing WA at National Title events across all disciplines,” said Surfing WA Events Manager Justin Majeks. “Our goal is to continue delivering exceptional experiences for our members, supporting long-standing club events, and welcoming more people into WA’s vibrant surfing community in 2025.”

Online entries for events in the first quarter of 2025 will open on the Surfing WA website in December

As the state’s peak body for surfing, the organisation delivers world-class events, community programs, and development pathways that support surfers of all levels, from juniors to professionals. We are now inviting passionate and professional individuals to apply for the following roles:

Events Manager (Full Time)
This role is responsible for leading the delivery of major surfing events across WA, including the Margaret River Pro, King of the Point, Whalebone Longboard Classic, and more. We are seeking an experienced and organised professional with strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, and a passion for event delivery in a high-performance, community-driven environment.

Office Administrator (Full Time)
As the first point of contact for Surfing WA, this position plays a key role in the daily operations of the organisation. The successful applicant will have strong communication and administrative skills, customer service experience, and the ability to coordinate bookings, support internal teams, and ensure efficient office functionality.

Both positions are full-time roles based in Trigg, with a preferred commencement date in August 2025.
